In a bid to motivate and promote academic excellence, both within and beyond his institution, the Director of Kelden Bilingual Higher Institute of Professional Studies — Yaoundé — has established an academic recognition initiative called The Director's Award of Excellence.
"This award, to be given to the 3 best students from every department and cycle, shall have a primary objective to recognise and honour students with outstanding academic performances."
The ceremony for the selection and award is organised by the School Academic Board at the end of every semester, following the publication of results. Implemented since the 2021–2022 academic year, this initiative continues to inspire exceptional achievement across all levels of study.
Four Tiers of Recognition
Winners receive scholarships and certificates of excellence based on their level of achievement.
Awarded to the best performers each semester — recognising consistent dedication and academic discipline throughout the term.
Recognising the best annual results with both an academic scholarship and a prestigious certificate of excellence.
For the most outstanding HND & BTS results — winners receive an academic scholarship toward their degree program.
The highest recognition — awarded to the best professional degree results, with a scholarship toward a Master's program.
Criteria for Qualification
Primary Criterion
The essential academic benchmark every candidate must meet to be considered for any tier of the award.
Secondary Criteria
The Academic Board may also evaluate these qualities that have a direct or indirect influence on excellence.
- Discipline — Consistent adherence to institutional standards and rules
- Leadership Qualities — Demonstrated ability to inspire and guide peers
- School Attendance — Regular and punctual presence in academic activities
- Moral Virtue — Character and conduct that reflects the institution's values
